I’m not entirely sure for whom this novel is written or what the overall plot is – but it does make me think about the flexibility of the time line.
Snoozing through time compression
Some say we shouldn’t hit the snooze button. I disagree! But whether it’s an infinite snooze, or a snooze for just 5 minutes, time compression is needed to make it worthwhile!
Time travel and peanut butter: hard nuts to crack at breakfast time
It’s breakfast time and my daughter is educating me on the difference between yesterday and today.
A morning in the T2TT house
A virus, a maths test, cutlery, a clock with a flat battery. And of course, golden syrup! Just a normal morning in the time2timel travel house!
Bad predictions – a thing of the past?
How a broken mug handle can trigger a look back at 2014 and weather predictions.
Dishwasher the way it worked
A common understanding of past, present and future makes for a happy home!
Palindrome Day
Today is 2nd February 2020, or 02022020 – a number which reads the same forwards and backwards. If dates can run forwards and backwards, can time too?
A Taste of Yesterday Today
Sweet smelling roses and a little taste of yesterday today. Will time travel get us into a sticky mess?
Living behind my time
How a planned one-way trip to the moon is symbolic of my birth before my time. I should have been born in the future!
The future, today
Children want the future today! Maybe one day in the future, they will, and I’m sure it won’t be long until they’re teaching us how to operate the controls of the family time machine!
Football, biotechnology and time travel.
How watching a football match a day late got me thinking about biotechnology as a means of time travel.
The Space Between Thought – William M. Dean
I was bombarded with so many thoughts I have no space left! Brilliantly written with a superb time travel component!
Birth of the Galaxy Star Book Rating System
The traditional star rating system has limitations. I’m going to try this Galaxy Star Book Rating System instead!
Review: Beyond the Moon (Catherine Taylor)
Beyond the Moon brings a war soldier and a lady held against her will in a psychiatric ward together. Ah yes, and there’s a 100 years between them!
Review: The Keepers of the Black Cave (Hanit Pahima)
A black cave as a time travel portal and 3 alien siblings at ‘its’ mercy. What else is in store?
Author Interview: Jennifer Macaire (The Road to Alexander)
Jennifer Macaire navigates King Kong, banana skins and the Eiffel Tower to let us know more about her in this interview!
Inertia of Time
What would happen if time stops? Are we bound tightly to it, or would we continue to slide along the time line with our time inertia? There seems to be some evidence that this may be the case…
Review: The Road to Alexander (Jennifer Macaire)
“The Road to Alexander” by Jennifer Macaire is brilliantly written with a sense of humour and a main character I love! 🙂
An Expansion of Time
Will the expansion of the universe affect my time at home?
Time travel technology – what’s in store?
Cars, video tapes and time travel technology. What do they have in common?
Family Man: A Near Life Experience
I’m living the lucky narrow escape from an alternative outcome my life could have taken. This alternate reality family doesn’t exist – and won’t exist – because I already exist in it!
Review: Journeyman (Mark J. Rose)
Mark J. Rose writes Journeyman drawing on his own experience as an equestrian and a pharmacologist. There’s little time travel but the writing is superb!
The Early Worm Gets Eaten
I wake up in the dark early hours of the morning, and go to bed when it’s still daylight outside. How does daylight saving time give me more daylight?
Clock change – it’s the bad one!
Ultimate daylight saving time: bears have the right idea about maximising their sunlight time by hibernating through the dark winter months and staying awake for the sunshine! The rest of us are being duped…
Review: Traveler’s HOT L Vol. 2 (CR Downing)
Traveler’s HOT L Volume 2 has a solid time travel mechanism (complete with a full description) and short stories of its application and consequences when things go wrong. It’s brilliantly written too!
Guest post: Time Dilation as a Trope
Despite the recent explosion of time travel stories, time dilation remains an untapped treasure trove. In this guest post from Roy Huff we learn something about time dilation as a trope.
A Journey to “Journeyman”
Which is easiest – dropping Matt Miller in Colonial America or dropping a package containing the novels through my letter box?
Review: An Age (Brian Aldiss)
An Age by Brian Aldiss takes an age to get to the point, and by the time it’s been reached it’s too late.
Review: Memoirs of a Time Traveler (Doug Molitor)
“Memoirs of a Time Traveler” by Doug Molitor is a novel of 3 halves. I love the writing style and the humour, and the time travel aspect is well thought out!
The River of Time: What’s its Direction?
The “River of Time” is a commonly used model of the passage of time where time flows in one direction. But in which direction?
Time’s up for my alarm clock!
My alarm clock has marked the passage of time for me but its time is finally up. Alarm bells have been ringing and alerting me of its imminent demise with limp hands, no glow and yes – a dead alarm feature. Farewell, my ex-trusty alarm clock. May you snooze in peace…
Watch yourself
Does the psychology of showing us a watch with a smiley face on it really help the sale?
Review: The Door into Summer by Robert A. Heinlein
An easy read for a full length time travel novel from the author who brought us “All You Zombies” and “By His Bootstraps”. Was walking through this door worth it?
Where’s my little girl gone?
Tomorrow my little 5 year old girl won’t exist any more yet I’m certain she’s looking forward to the event which takes her away from me…
When is it Now?
The differentiation between “later”, “now ” and “never” is not as clear as we might think, but a trip into London with my daughters helped me to unravel it!
Fall back – how many hours?
When we fall back an hour in winter time we’re supposed to gain an hour. In my recent experience I’m not sure if I gained an hour – or lost many!
